The idea of SUX Sports came about in 2012 when Siouxland native Sam Doerr launched the original SUX Sports website, which featured local Siouxland sports, college sports and movie reviews. The site lasted until early 2013.
Not until the winter of 2015 did SUX Sports decide to officially startup again. SUX Sports with Josh Sachnoff began covering high school basketball in the Siouxland area. Two cross-town rivalry games between Sioux City East and Sioux City North, along with Sioux City North’s substate and state games. were among the games covered.
After posting high school and college basketball stories on the SUX Sports with Josh Sachnoff blog, the new and improved website has officially launched.
SUX Sports will focus on high school football and basketball in Siouxland, as well as college football and basketball at the national level.
With stories from athletes at both the local and collegiate level, analysis and coaches shows, SUX Sports is bringing a new multimedia platform for its viewers.
We look forward to bringing the people of Siouxland a new innovative way to view the sports they love.

President and Head Writer
As a Sioux City native and University of Oregon graduate, Josh has been an avid sports fan since he was just six years old and Michael Jordan was winning championships with the Chicago Bulls.
While finishing his Cinema Studies degree at Oregon, Josh also focused heavily in journalism and landed an internship with Bleacher Report’s Writing Academy in 2013, where he was one of the first two selected in his group to be moved into a Featured Columnist role for college basketball.
College basketball was his main focus during his first few months with Bleacher Report, but he moved back into a Contributor III role and pushed his focus towards college football. For the last two college football seasons, Josh has done preseason analysis and predictions for the five major conferences, as well as weekly predictions and recaps during the season.
He travels around the country to college football games and has had the opportunity the last two seasons to cover Fiesta Bowl Media Day and the Fiesta Bowl game.
This past winter, Josh got involved with high school basketball in the Siouxland area and rebooted SUX Sports, which had originally launched in the Fall of 2012. He covered two East-North rivalry games and covered North in both the substate championship and state tournament.
He is excited to bring a new source of sports to the area, which will be presented in a multimedia platform.
